Synopsis[]

Akio and Shima begin dueling once more on the Wangan Line, with the Devil Z and the Blackbird running nose-to-tail with one another. As they come across the road-block that Akio previously crashed on, Akio attempts to pass by it unscathed. However, the Devil Z starts spinning out and crashes once again. Ko-Chan and Ma quickly run over to the crashed Z, in-which Akio replies that he's ok.

Later on, popular model and TV-Show host, Reina Akikawa, is doing photography shots. After her shift is done, Reina begins running on the Wangan, and the Devil Z (now repaired once again) easily catches up to her GT-R. Akio and Reina begin to battle down the Wangan Line, with the Devil Z easily passing and outrunning her GT-R. The next day, Reina is on the popular TV show, Drive GoGo!, along with the main host, Kouichi Kijima. Reina tells Kijima about her battle with Akio, and Kijima explains the rumours about the Devil Z and the Blackbird to Reina. During this time, Akio pulls up to Ko-Chan's garage, with Ko-chan being shocked that Akio was able to repair the Z once again.

Later on, Reina meets up with the Devil Z once again, and begins catching up to Akio. The 2 of them begin battling on the Wangan, with the Z easily outrunning Reina's GT-R. Later, both Akio and Reina meet up at a parking lot, and Reina asks if she can ride the Z, with Akio denying that request. Reina then distracts Akio and hijacks the Z, with Akio quickly following Reina in her GT-R. However, Reina is unable to control the Z and spins out after avoiding a truck. Akio, now frustrated, quickly runs over to check if she's ok, with Reina telling her that she's fine.

The next morning at Yamamoto's tuning shop, Kazuhiko Yamamoto explains to Reina about the steps that he needs to do to modify her GT-R to hit 600PS. After the modifications are complete, Reina takes her GT-R for a test drive on the Wangan with Yamamoto, and the Blackbird approaches them. Reina then attempts to chase after the Porsche. However, Yamamoto tells Reina to not go after the Blackbird.

The next day, Ko-Chan tells Akio at his shift that he saw the Blackbird last night. Reina and Shima soon begin battling around the Expressway, and when the Devil Z appears, Reina takes the lead of the 3-car battle.

Differences from the Manga[]

  • The blood and scratches seen on Akio's face is not present in the anime, this could be due to the fact that Akio wore his seatbelt in the anime, compared to the manga where he did not.
  • Koichi Kijima is introduced during the first arc of the anime, whilst in the manga, he didn't appear until the "Legendary FC" arc.
  • In the manga, Reina explains her encounter with the Devil Z to Yamamoto at his tuning shop. Whilst in the anime, she explains it to Kijima at the TV Studio.
  • During the scene where Reina hijacks the Devil Z, the events happen on the local streets in the manga, whilst in the anime, it occurs on the Wangan Line.

Errors and Trivia[]

  • At the 20:05 mark, the Devil Z is shown the OEM fender mirrors. However in the next scene, the Z is shown with the custom door-mounted mirrors.
  • At the 21:12 mark, Reina and Shima are seen passing by the Oi Junction. But in the next scene, it shows them just after the tunnel before they enter the Oi Junction.
