Akio Asakura (朝倉アキオ Asakura Akio) is the main protagonist of Wangan Midnight.
He is a high school student who finds a broken down Nissan Fairlady Z (S30), nicknamed the “Devil Z”, at a junkyard and with the help of his friend, repairs the car and starts driving it on the expressway.

Relationships[]
Reina Akikawa, a model who drives an R32 GT-R, befriends Akio and develops feelings for him, although the only things he's ever expressed any interest in is cars and racing, as Reina subtly declares her feelings to him on several occasions, however, Akio has remained oblivious.
However, when Reina leaves for the United States for a year due to her work, she directly declares her love for him, and it is implied that he finally realizes her previous moves and he accepts and reciprocates her feelings, telling her that he will await her return.
