Akio Asakura (朝倉 晶夫) is Eriko's late brother and the original owner of the Devil Z, who died in an accident. He shares his name with high-school boy Akio Asakura, albeit the late Akio had his first name rendered in kanji, in contrast to the protagonist Akio's katakana.
His face never showed in Anime or Manga and his voice actor is Tomokazu Seki, who also voice Keisuke Takahashi in another racing anime, Initial D.
