Masaki Takahashi (高橋 正輝 Takahashi Masaki), also known as "Ma/Mar", is Akio Asakura's best friend and the brother of Ko-chan, he enjoys riding with him and picking up girls. However, when Akio gets the Devil Z, Mar, like other people, grows concerned about him, as Akio puts his life and chances of graduating with Mar in danger to drive the Z. Whilst he doesn't own a car, he does own a bike, (either a Honda NH 50 Lead (anime), or a Suzuki CS (Manga.).
