The 500E is the high-performance version of Mercedes-Benz's W124 E-Class range of mid-sized luxury sedan, appearing in the Japanese version of Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 5.
Description[]
Built and sold during 1991 to 1994, the 500E was created in cooperation with Porsche. This car is powered by Mercedes-Benz's 5.0 L double overhead cam V8, codenamed M119 taken straight from a Mercedes-Benz SL, the company's flagship sports/GT car. Despite wearing a Mercedes-Benz badge, it was actually hand-built by Porsche and had to be transported back and forth from Porsche's plant in Zuffenhausen to Mercedes-Benz's plant in Sindelfingen, Germany.
In real life, the car featured considerable performance despite being a large luxury sedan with an automatic transmission. Acceleration times range from 5.5 to 6 seconds, with quarter mile figures of 14.1 seconds at 163 km/h and a top speed of 260 km/h.
