Subaru Impreza WRX STi Version VI GC8

The Subaru Impreza WRX STI Version VI (GC8) is a car produced by Subaru. It made its debut in the first arcade rendition of Wangan Midnight.

Description[]

This is the former Group A homologation model. With its good lineage as a base vehicle for motorsports, it's become a model that can satisfy anyone from beginners to pros. It has slightly less torque compared to the GDB, but the driver can feel the acceleration and cornering that make use of the lighter body. Of course, it's difficult to reach its maximum speed as it's a rally-based machine.

Review[]

This car has average blocking, great handling and exceptional boost. While the low top speed is compensated by its handling, it tends to slide more than the other Subaru Impreza cars. This is not a big deal, as the player can simply counter-steer to prevent crashing. Its small size also allows for the player to sneak through traffic. To get the best out of its high acceleration, be sure to rotate the 2nd gear as much as possible before shifting to 3rd gear.

Makoto Morishita owned an silver Subaru Impreza WRX STi which was gifted from her boyfriend, Hiroki. Makoto later sells her Impreza before switching to a Nissan Fairlady Z Z32 in later chapters.

The yellow variant of Impreza, Type RA can be selected if choose the Yellow base colour. The other colour selections resulted in the car being the normal Impreza WRX STI Version VI GC8.
In the first two Maximum Tune games, this car has an STI WR Bumper Kit available as part of its Handling Basic Tuning. However, from Maximum Tune 3 onwards, the STI WR Bumper Kit is not included as part of its Dress-Up Kits.
