Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3DX+ is an arcade video game based on the Wangan Midnight manga. It is the second and last upgrade of the Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3 arcade series, the first being Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3DX. It is the fifth installment in the overall Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune series.
This was last Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune series to be released in the United States using Wangan Midnight title until Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 5 was launched in 2017.
This was also marked final game featured Gemballa manufacturer where Tatsuya Shima's Blackbird car used it (in case Gemballa 3.8 RS in Japan, as well Nissan Fairlady Z (Z33) in International) as the brand replaces with Ruf Automobile starting in Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 4. This was also final game using Tuning card system since the first Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune as Next game using different card system (Banapassport).
Tuning Cards with data from Japanese version cannot be used with the other two versions (English and Simplified Chinese) meanwhile Tuning Cards with data from English or Simplified Chinese versions can be used among these two aforementioned versions but cannot be used in Japanese version.
