The half-brother of Kazuhiko Yamamoto who also works at YM Speed, as well as a photographer on his own right. He sees the Blackbird as a "fighter jet for the roads" while driving his R33 Skyline GT-R, and so he decides to find the best "ZERO for the Roads" in order to outrun the Blackbird. He found RGO's RX-7 with a rotary engine, but found out that he was not satisfied.
This would cause Yamamoto to build a roadster for Yuji in order to outrun the Blackbird, and so Yuji decides to tune his new roadster (S2000 in the manga and WMMT6, MX-5 in the WMMT3DX/3DX+) and modify its appearance, until he met the Devil Z at the New Circular Line and was outrun by both cars.
